The single foot fly guides SFG/BSFG are hard chrome platedstainless steel in chrome and black chrome. The guidesonly require one wrap. This not only eliminates half the laborbut it also reduces the weight of the rod with the exclusionof the additional thread and epoxy needed to wrapconventional two foot guides. The blank also has a moredesirable parabolic flex pattern. The wider diameter ring allowsthe line and leader to shoot more freely, reducing linecontact with the blank when casting. The reduced frictionfurther translates into greater casting efficiency.
