The innovation in ceramics started more than 30 years ago with the Aluminum Oxide ring guide. Known for many years as the Hard ring guide; it ushered in a new generation of guides and tops. Still widely used by many rod builders and fishermen, these rings are assembled with a polymer shock ring and are available in black and stainless steel finishes. Now an updated version of the Aluminum Oxide ring is available. The most significant difference between the Hard ring and this guide is the absence of a polymer shock ring because of its durable nature in addition to it being lighter and thinner. All Aluminum Oxide rings are diamond polished to an ultra smooth finish and come in a variety of frame styles and finishes.
